H2H Update

The last two days I have been sewing blocks for the H2H Quilt Challenge from the fabric that Shannon sent me. I got the blocks made but I don't think I like the way I laid the rows out. Tomorrow I will change them around before I sew them together.

I also made a heart block for Mary Lou. My hope is that all the heart blocks she will be receiving will bring her some comfort in the days ahead.

One Picture

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

This picture is worth thousand hours? Ok, maybe not a thousand hours. My coworker showed me this picture a year ago of her daughter who would be a senior this spring and I said you could make her a quilt with her dance pictures. My friend gave me that look like yea right I don't quilt. A few weeks later I offered to make the quilt. Remember it was last summer when I said I would do this. When the new year rolled around we started to talk about the picture quilt.

WHAT WAS I THINKING!

My coworker brought me 20 pictures. I spent one week-end making the top. I had my LQS quilt it and it is awesome. I did it!!! I know Suzanne will treasure her keepsake.

Congratulations Suzanne.

I did get my thread holders finished and given as gifts. Here is a picture of them.

The two reds are my red mononchomatic challenge for May. Check it out over at Judy's Patchwork Times.

I am headed over to Sarah's at Confessions of a Fabric Addict to what everone else is doing on Whoop Whoop Friday.

Have a great week-end.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

In the past two weeks we have had rain almost every day. I am so ready for sunshine and warmer weather.

Whoop, Whoop Friday Link Up~! I am linking up with Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict to see what everyone has been doing this week.
I have been working on my H2H Challenge blocks. I have 26 blocks finished and only 38 more to go. I am please with my progress so far since the quilt doesn't need to finished until July.

Here are the different color blocks I have made so far.

I have been making thread holders for gifts. There is a great tutorial over at Leeann's at The Stitching Room on making the thread holders. Check it out! I will post pictures later.

Blessings,
Karen

Whoop Whoop

Central Ohio Binky Patrol put out a major plea for quilts for tornado victims. I looked through my stash and found these squares. I wanted something that I could sew together quickly.

Orange Monochromatic Challenge

I finished my orange quilt. I found the pattern in Quick Quilt July 2008. It is called Lakeside Charm. It will probably be a Christmas gift for a friend.
I was surprised how much orange I had. I did purchase the border fabric. I do like how it turned out.

Sewing Progress

I have finished this baby quilt for my daughter's sorority sister. This is there first baby. His name will be Landon and the room decorations are browns and greens. I have made the stacked coins out of Lily & Will fabric. I know she will love it.

I have receive my fabric for H2H Challenge. It is from Shannon. The fabric is purple, blue flowers, and yellow with butterflies. I think I am going to make happy blocks with the fabric. In the picture Shannon's fabric is at the top and I have added some fabric I plan on using at the bottom. I am looking forward to getting started.
I have had a email plea for quilt for the tornado victims. I need to get busy and make a couple of quilts. My prayers go out them.
May you have a sewing Sunday.
Blessings, Karen
